In addition to its main activity the company plans to provide travel services in its retail offices. BANKO received the information from one of the tour operators on December 13th; however the scoop was not officially confirmed yet. According to the tour operator Euroset suggested involvement of its massive retail chain – around 3000 offices in Russia. The fact of the same negotiations was confirmed by one more tour operating company. The project of the mobile retailer suggests sales of mass-market non-visa destinations in its offices. Experts say that Euroset plan to set 15% commission from tour operators for its offices. BANKO plans to publish the comments of Euroset representatives in the coming days. At the moment it is clear that while the majority is concerned about the ‘attack’ of European travel brands with Russia joining the WTO, the high competitive potential is hidden in Russia itself. According to BANKO information, other mass-market service brands also consider the possibility to have additional income items by means of travel industry. According to the tour operators that negotiated with Euroset, the company underestimates the peculiarity of travel business and believes it is easy to sell tourpackages in addition to mobile phones. |
