BANKO discovered some details regarding autumn travel fairs. You may recall from previous news bulletins that ITE and MSI plan to combine autumn travel exhibitions - Select Travel Expo and Leisure - in 2007. The name of the combined even will include both brands. Alexander Shtalenkov, General Director of ITE LLC Moscow, commented as follows: 'the decision to merger the autumn travrl events was taken by mutual consent. We have realised that it is not convenient for our clients to participate in both exhibitions considering time and financial factors. Moreover, the majority in the market believe there is no logic in paralel existance of the events'. Christophe Shimonyuk, General Director of MSI, added: 'Some participants and guests of Leisure Exhibition were not saticfied with its location - Crocus Expo. But the key factor is that it is time to change the concept of the exhibition. Two foreign companies will be sucessful at this'. Meanwhile, travel market players feel enthusiastic towards the initiative of ITE and MSI. Thus, Eduard Kuznetsov, President of UTE Megapolus Group, stated as follows: 'recently the has been a tendency in the market that travel industry professionals divided between two forums'. 'It is reasonable to organise one travel exhibition in the season' agreed Valery Loshits, General Director of Astravel. Nevertheless, in autumn 2007 two travel exhibitions will be held. The Russian company Euroexpo that before organised the Leisure Exhibition in coooperation with MSI do not rush into changing its autumn plans. On December 8th BANKO received a letter from Euroexpo saying: 'the announced "combined" autumn fair will not affect the well - known international exhibition Leisure that changed its location in 2006. The 13th Leisure exhibition will be held in Moscow on September 25th-28th within MATIW in Crocus Expo...' According to Alexander Shtalenkov and Christophe Shimonyuk, MSI owes the Leisure brand. Meanwhile, the Leisure Exhibition organised by Euroexpo will have a different logo. Furthermore, at the moment MSI does not plan participate in the organisation of the spring Intourmarket in coooperation with Euroexpo.
