As a result the market is overwhelmed with special offers for tours to Czech Republic. According to the exchange bulletin of BANKO travel-inform the price for week tours to the country with a flight at the beginning of December decreased to 229 Euros with ticket cost being 200Euros. Travel market experts explain the current situation by the excess of air traffic volume on the route that is especially evident in low pre-New Year season. At the moment three daily charter flights are operated to Pardubice. Besides, Aeroflot and Czech Airlines operate 10-14 flights per week to Prague. ‘Tourists prefer scheduled flights – the difference in price between charter and scheduled flights is around 20Euros’, commented Irina Lurie, Head of Tourist Department of Bohemia Travel System.
Furthermore, Tatiana Korshunova, Product Promotion Vice-President of lanata-tour voyage, believes that the situation will start stabilizing by the middle of December and New Year and Christmas period will compensate tour operators for all concerns. The opinion is confirmed by active bookings for these dates. ‘Before sales for the New Year period started at the beginning of November, while at present the beginning of November is market with stop sale for tours to many countries. Apparently, the demand for the New Year tours has increased due to May Holidays’, stated Natalia Galitskaya, Head of Amigo Travel Company. Irina Lurie pointed one more tendency of the season: more bookings of 4-5* hotels.
