[IMG=21404-7254] On November 2nd organizers of MITF-2007 and National Tourism Association held an unprecedented event – meeting of 25 national tourism boards in the bunker of Iosif Stalin (!!) that started with Vietnamese dancing (!!!). A BANKO correspondent asked Alexander Davidov, Director of Moscow Exhibition and Congress Agency, to explain such an unpredictable choice: ‘the idea was to combine pleasant and useful things. The aim of the event was to remind national tourism boards about the 7th MITF exhibition that will be held in Gosstiny Dvor on May 17-20. Stalin Bunker is an interesting historical site that attracts foreigners. The event and the Georgian dinner impressed everybody’.
The meeting of tourism boards representatives, Konstantin Kinel (Thailand), Sergey kanaev (dubai), Anthony Caruana (Malta) and others, was held in warm and friendly atmosphere.
Furthermore, Olga Teplyakova, General Manager of MITF project pointed out that for the last two years the Greek Tourism Office had the biggest (1000 square meters) stand. Besides, several tourism offices refused to participate – Britain, Slovakia, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Korea. The exhibition is patronized by the Moscow Government. It is aimed at end customs. The cost of participation is the same for both international and Russian companies – 210 – 240 units per square meter
