Spectrum Had To Cancel Its Flight To Nice

[IMG=20333-6092]Moscow-Nice charter program expected to be launched on July 15th was cancelled. According to travel market experts, the information was announced by Spectrum – charter consolidator – at the meeting on July 3rd (news/29.06). However, on July 4th the consolidator denied commenting on the situation. Meanwhile, a BANKO correspondent found out, that the flight program was cancelled owing the decision of aviation authorities. ‘Nice is one of those destinations, flights to where are defined by the agreement of flights between the Russian Federation and France. The agreement specifies the airlines that can operate flights between France and Russia. Russian airline is Aeroflot. The approval procedure of other airlines with Aeroflot is legislated by the agreement. However, a charter to Nice was not negotiated with Aeroflot. Therefore, we had to decline Spectrum request’, said Evgeny Bachurin, the Head Deputy of Rosaviation. According to companies that took blocks on the Spectrum flight, the consolidator offered an alternative: to launch a flight to either Marcel or Genoa. However, according to one of the participants of the meeting, tour operators did not come to the agreement. As a result the consolidator promised to refund money to them. Consequently, travel companies will have to resolve problem regarding sold tickets on Nice flight and their clients to Nice on their own. Meanwhile, tour operators do not consider the current situation to be crisis. Thus, Maxim Pristavko, Commercial Director of Jet Travel, stated: ‘at the moment we are concerned about an alternative flight for our tourists to Genoa. Some of them might fly by Aeroflot scheduled flight with a little extra payment’. Ascent Travel clients will fly by the company’s own flight to Genoa. Thus, Evgeny Sudbin, General Director Deputy of Ascent Travel, was laconic: ‘it is not a catastrophe. Moreover, we plan to launch one more charter program’. We remind you that charters to Genoa are also operated by PAC Group and DSBW (news/06/06). On the one hand, travel market experts point out flights to the Italian region are not 100% booked, consequently, they can be booked for ‘French’ tourists. On the other hand, a number of tickets for the coming dates is limited. For example, Yulia Berdnikova, the Head of Group Tours Department of PAC Group, said: 'practically all tickets for flights on June 15th and June 22nd are booked'.
