[IMG=20222-6000]While the Turkish destination is marked with the drop in demand, tour operators that specialize in the Bulgarian market announce the increase in demand by 30-40%. A BANKO correspondent found out that the total air traffic volume to Varna and Burgas from Moscow will grow by 1,660 seats per week because of both estimated extension of charter programs and the launch of new flights. ‘Growing demand for Bulgaria stimulated our decision to launch one more flight to Burgas by Boeing-747 and to change one of three Boeings-767 for A-310 on Varna flight’, said Dmitry Cherepov, Director of Bulgarian Department of CAPITAL TOUR. Furthermore, Alexander Shirokov, General Director Deputy of Erzog Travel Company pointed out they intend to extend their charter program starting from July 10th – an additional flight by IL-86 will be consolidated by the Russian Charter Center and ICS Travel Group.
Travel market experts explain high rates of increase in demand for Bulgaria by the situation on the Turkish destination provoked by scandalous information, high rates and change in peoples’ preferences.
However, experts worry that the growing air traffic volume might result into shortage of hotels. Thus, Svetlana Moreva, the Head of the Bulgarian Destination of Neva Travel Company, pointed out current stop sales in many Bulgarian hotels.
