Aeroflot Will Operate Flights To Crete Starting From July

[IMG=20126-5895]On July 2nd a charter flight Moscow-Iraklion will be operated by Aeroflot IL-96 followed by the launch of a weekly charter flight by TU-154 on July 20th. Inna Tour is a consolidator of both flights with blocks taken by Bureau South Cross, Zeus Travel, IntAir, Labyrinth and others. Meanwhile, travel market professional divided opinions regarding the initiative of Inna Tour. Some travel companies, including those who participate in the program, believe it is a typical measure in the peak of the season, pointing out the increased demand for Crete. Furthermore, some travel market players are skeptical towards the perspectives of the flights. They emphasize two negative points: the size of IL-86 and traditionally lower demand for Crete in July than in June. Thus, Elena Sorokina, the Head of the Greek Department of UTE Megapolus Group, stated as follows: ‘last year the similar situation with flights resulted in excess of flights’. Meanwhile, travel market does not expect changes within charter programs to Greece. At the moment all announced charter flights are operated as planned. For example, Alexey Emelianov, the Head of Charter Department of IntAir: ‘we should accept the fact that Crete is becoming a mass-market destination. A number of flights at present meet the demand for the destination. All programs are prepared and any changes will hardly be adopted’.
