Infamous Luktour Left Its Tourists Without Accommodation

[IMG=20079-5832]On June 9th BANKO Information Service found out about one more scandalous incident with tour operator known as Luktour involved. According to several sources, on June 8th around 60 Russian tourists, who booked tours with Luktour, were not accommodated in Antalya hotels. While transfer from the airport it was announced that the hotels were not prepared to accommodate them. The tourists contacted the Russian Embassy, which representative informed BANKO that the problem was solved only after negotiations between the Russian Embassy and Turkish authorities. All tourists were accommodated in 5* hotels. Meanwhile, Luktour representatives did not deny the incident, however, withheld detailed comments, only having pointed out that General Director of Luktour, Vladimir Morozov was in Antalya regarding the problem. They supposed that on June 9th the tour operator would terminate its contract with the Turkish incoming company Luk Tour Med on which Luktour imposes responsibility for the incident. In spite of Luktour decision to change partners travel agencies doubt company’s ability to restore reputation: ‘on June 10th a group of our tourists go to Antalya and we are really concerned about their accommodation. Luktour representative said that the money for tours were transferred to their partners already, however, they refused to show us the confirmation’, said Executive Director of Ankor Travel Company, Yulia Orekhova. Meanwhile, Nadezhda Nazina from the Federal Tourism Agency, commented as follows: 'unfortunately, at the moment there is no an effective mechanism for fighting against such companies as Luktour. They can register as a new legal person and receive license allowing them to work’.
