[IMG=20023-5792]Starting from July 2nd Aeroflot Airlines will restart operating charter flights to Vietnam terminated in August 2005 owing the ban on flights by IL-96 followed by shortage of long haul aircraft. Travel market experts that specialize in the Vietnamese destination point out that Aeroflot initiative will break monopoly of Vietnam Airlines, emphasizing that the total air traffic volume to Vietnam will increase by 50%. Thus, two weekly Aeroflot flights to Hanoi by Boeing-767 are set to be added to three flights by Vietnam Airlines (two of them – to Hanoi, one – to Ho Chi Minh). It is interesting that Inna Tour travel Company might become the only company with guaranteed blocks of seats on flights to Hanoi. According to unaccredited sources, Inna Tour will have 50-seat blocks on both Aeroflot flights with ticket cost being around 20% lower than open rates that will stimulate the reduction of prices for standard tour packages by $100. Meanwhile, Inna Tour withheld commenting on the situation, however, having confirmed the fact of negotiations with Aeroflot. Margarita Davlikova, General Director Deputy of Inna Tour, said in the interview to a BANKO correspondent that in case the Agreement is signed, Inna Tour clients from St. Petersburg and Samara will have the most favorable conditions as Aeroflot provides them with prorating through tariffs allowing to economize on domestic flights. Nevertheless, Tatiana Vand, General Director of Vand International tour, pointed out that the rearrangement of tourist flow between either two Airline Companies or tour-operating companies specializing in Vietnam is hardly expected. According to her, 70% of Russian tourists book tours to the south of the country, thus using flights to Ho Che Minh to where Aeroflot does not plan to operate flights. Furthermore, Marina Rudakova, the Head of South East Asia of UTE Megapolus group said that most probably Inna Tour will share the preferences from Aeroflot with other members of the Indo-Chinese Club.
