[IMG=20006-5771] VIM – avia continues extending its airpark – the airline has recently received its 15th Boeing – 757 with a Rolls-Royce engine. In June one more Boeing aircraft will join the air park of VIM-avia. However, only 7 aircraft of the airline company are in operation at the moment, said Sergey Pinchuk, PR Director of VIM-avia. According to him three aircraft is on regular maintenance in Domodedovo, while five are being handled in Germany. Furthermore, Pinchuk commented: ‘the current situation is explained by the fact that in Russia we do not have specialists and technical facilities for scheduled maintenance of Boeings – 757-200, while the German LTU – aircraft handling subcontractor of VIM-avia – does not have enough facilities to cope with the current workload. Besides, unlike Aeroflot and Transaero we do not have customs privileges for foreign manufactured aircraft and spare parts, that affects aircraft current maintenance processes. At present VIM-avia is negotiating $ 92, 000 credit with The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. Part of the credit is set to be allocated to funding the existing leasing contracts and airpark extension. However, aircraft repairs is also budgeted. According to unaccredited sources, VIM-avia is looking for additional sources of financing. In particular, the airline company is negotiating $ 1, 000 000 for one aircraft repair with Intourist and its affiliating company Megapolus-Aviacharter. Successful negotiations might result into aircraft allocation for Intourist and Aviacharter programs at special rates. Meanwhile, both companies withhold comments and VIM-avia refutes the information.
