MyAir Will Operate Scheduled Flights From Moscow To Bologna
Italian low - cost airline MyAir intends to operate scheduled flights from Moscow to Bologna. At the moment the Airline Company is negotiating the conditions with Vnukovo airport. General Director Deputy of Vnukovo-Handling, Igor Kravchuk, said: ‘MyAir is an important client for us, especially given the fact that at present only charter flights are realized from the Airport’.
MyAir is a second discounter after German Wings, which now operates seven flights per week, interested in Vnukovo Airport. Furthermore, German Wings Italian colleague plan to fly twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays.
Spectrum – avia will become an official representative of MyAir in Moscow. The Head of Spectrum-avia said in the interview to a BANKO correspondent, ‘our company will be responsible for MyAir promotion in the Russian market, passenger service at the airport, coordination of tariffs’. It is understood, that MyAir will offer 15% lower rates for its scheduled flights than national airlines have for charters. Moreover, Spectrum expects a 15% discount.
Commenting on the alliance, travel market players point out, ‘MyAir could work without its official representative in Russia. However, given the administrative resource of Spectrum, the policy of the Italian airline is forward looking’.
Meanwhile, travel market experts believe that it will be difficult to promote MyAir flights owing the destination they are operated to. Thus, Lubov Chistyakova, Executive Director of Mondo Tours, said, ‘the location of Bologna is not very convenient. Therefore, a cost of a transfer to resorts and excursion regions from the airport will demolish the advantages of a low-cost flight’. On the other hand, Boris Burikin, Director of Ascent Travel, emphasized: ‘a flight to Bologna is very convenient for business trips – before businessmen had to fly via Milan, Venice and Rimini’.
