The Accident in Tunisia Will Not Affect The Demand For The Destination

According to travel market players the accident in the Hammamet Theme Park in which one Latvian tourist died and six tourists, including two Russian people, were injured, will not affect the popularity of the destination. Thus, Olga Anosova, Tunisian Destination Manager of Neva Travel Company, commented as follows: ‘the information appeared not long ago; therefore, it is early to make conclusions. However, I believe that the accident will not provoke panic among tourists going to Tunisia, as everybody understands it was not a terrorist act. Most probably tourists will prefer not to go to the Hammamed Theme Park, where the accident occurred’. ‘For example, in Turkey there are accident every year, but it has never affected the popularity of the destination’, said Ilya Smirnov, the Head of the Tunisian Department of Tourbureau Moscow.
