According to TEZ TOUR representatives, such a global event will have a positive impact on the travel industry of the region. Experts believe the fact that after the recent terrorist act in Dahab the political elite still comes to Egypt will contribute into the resort reputation recovery. At the moment there is no information in which hotels the delegations will stay but given a number of delegates most of the rooms in all 5* hotels will be booked for the world leaders. As for security measures, Anna Podgornaya believes tourists will not even notice them: ‘I am sure that security measures will not affect the life of tourists in the resort’. None of tour operators forecast drop in demand for the period when the World Economic Forum is held in Sharm-el-Sheikh. Thus, Mikhail Ioffe, the Head of Egypt Department of Tourenergoservice, emphasized: ‘The Forum will not affect the tourist flow to the region, however, the majority of 5* hotels in Sharm-el-Sheikh area are on stop sale at the moment’. |
