Thus, Evgenyi Mantrov, the owner of the Latvian travel Company Interstars, commented as follows: ‘we are concerned about the current situation as the A-320 is the main aircraft used in Latvia. We have already received several phone calls from our clients asking what to do’. Meanwhile, according to Aeroflot Press-Service, A-320 aircraft (the airline has seven a-320 aircraft built in 2003-2004) was recognized the safest aircraft. Furthermore, the Head of Charter Department of S7 Airlines, Sergey Tolstik, said to a BANKO correspondent that the catastrophe on May 2nd did not cause tumult. ‘We work in a normal regime. Our passengers did not require to change A-320 for other aircraft’, stated Tolstik. Meanwhile, the head of The Air Traffic Organization Management of the Federal Agency of Air Transport, Denis Odintsov, withheld official comments on the situation until the Commission announces the conclusions. However, the catastrophe will not lead to temporary ban on A-320 exploitation on the territory of Russian Federation.
