Croatia Will Be Promoted By Tourists

[IMG=19655-5374] The issue that generated the greatest interest of tour operating companies at the press conference in the Embassy of Croatia on April 26th was the new idea of the Croatian Club: to organize a promotion campaign of the destination – Tourist Photo Contest – with the support of the Croatian Tourism Board and to hold a traveling exhibition in several Russian regions. The companies-members of the Croatian Club believe that the campaign will hit the target - to stimulate the prestige and demand for Croatia in Russia. Besides, a large collection of pictures made by tourist will be kept in the Croatian Tourism Board and will be available to tour operators while preparing catalogues. Meanwhile, tour operators that organize tours to Croatia but are not the members of the Club are skeptical about the initiative. Thus, Oleg Tregubov, Tourism Director of Balkania Travel Company, commented on the idea to organize a photo contest as follows: ‘of course, the information support is crucially important for the destination, but I doubt it will be easy to organize as first of all it is necessary to encourage tourists for participation’. According to preliminary estimates of the members of the Croatian Club the budget of the campaign can be around 30, 000$. However, the sponsorship scheme is not yet defined.
