According to travel market players this season will be marked by the increase in air traffic volume to Majorca at around 400 seats per week. Thus, Natalie tours plan to fill 700 seats per week (two flights by Boeing – 767, starting from the middle of June one aircraft will be substituted by Boeing-747). Furthermore, TEZ TOUR plan to launch its own flight with around 300 seats by (two flights per week by KD-avia Boeing), while Vremya-tour intends to realize one flight per week by Sibir A-310. Besides, Briz Line will fly once a week by KD-avia Boeing-737. As for VKO-travel they plan to buy seats from one of consolidators.
As a result some travel market players are concerned about the situation. ‘Last year it was problematic to fill flights on certain dates and now with 400 seats more the situation will get even worse. Ambitions of tour operators are to be blamed’, stated Alexander Skalin, General Director of Vremya Tour. Nevertheless, experts forecast some consolidators will have to reduce a number of seats due to shortage of hotel rooms in Majorca provoked by the increased interest of German tourists in Spain. ‘The only resolution for Russian tour operators is to buy guaranteed rooms for peak dates in the most popular hotels’, explained Tatiana Chuvilkina, General Director of Natalie Tours.
