Egypt Is Interested In Attraction Of Tourists To The Mediterranean Resorts

On March 23rd a newly appointed Minister of Tourism of Egypt, Zoheir Garranah, appeared in front of journalists. The issue that generated the greatest interest at the press conference was the further promotion of the country, which was visited last year by around one million Russian tourists. Egypt representatives are especially interested in attraction of tourists to the Mediterranean coast of Egypt, Alexandria resorts. Garranah pointed out that at the moment measures are being taken to increase the beach area and extension of hotel base by 45, 000 new rooms.
Meanwhile, the perspectives of Alexandria as a tourist destination were discussed on the professional travel portal www.tourdom.ru. Thus, the visitor of the forum aka Santiago believes that Alexandria can be a success due to its sand beaches and the hospitality of local people. Besides, the city itself is beautiful and a flight to the destination takes an hour less than to the Red Sea resorts. On the other hand, forum participants pointed out a shortage of sea line hotels, short landing strip that does not allow welcoming Il-86-type aircraft, and the necessity of investments in the promotion of the region.
