Will Sibir Fly From Krasnoyarsk?

[IMG=19068-4710] On February 9th the BANKO Information Service reported that upon the initiative of Sibir Airlines, it was planned to hold an expertise in Krasnoyarsk Airport, Emelianovo, in order to examine its handling capacity. A BANKO correspondent asked representatives of Krasnoyarsk travel companies to comment on the situation. In general, they support Sibir and expect more charters from Krasnoyarsk. ‘At the moment tourists fly either from Novosibirsk or from Moscow, which is 300$ to add to the cost of tickets. With Sibir flying from Krasnoyarsk there will be more charter flights from the city. Besides it will decrease ticket cost’, said Anna Visotskaya, Director of Gala-Tour travel company. However, some Krasnoyarsk players express less enthusiasm: ‘Several companies wanted to fly from Krasnoyarsk, but left the local market not being able to cope with problems they faced. The Airport will always find ways for sabotage’, stated Lyudmila Gashkova, Director of Around the World – tour. Nevertheless, Sibir considers its position to be strong in the situation: ‘we hope for more civilized approach from competitors. Moreover, at the moment the Airport is becoming independent from the local airline, therefore they are interested in reliable partners’, said Igor Volkov, PR Director Deputy of Sibir Airlines.
