[IMG=19027-4674] At the end of the winter season several airline companies started sales of tickets at discount prices. Vietnam Airlines from February 15th to March 31st offer flights from Moscow to Saigon, Hanoi, Canon, Gong Kong, Kunming, and Phnom Penh for $510 (prices do not include taxes and airport fees). From February 15th to February 21st inner flights by Aeroflot cost from 1900 rubles, while international ones are offered from $99. Singapore Airlines announced a launch of Moscow-Singapore flights from March 1st and also offered discounted prices: Moscow-Dubai flight for $299 and Moscow-Singapore flight for $499. Such campaigns attract attention of tour operating companies. ‘It is convenient to take advantage of such offers, especially when it is possible to book tickets directly from an office’, stated Konstantin Denisov, the Head of South-East Asia Department of Kvinta Tour. Very often sales are targeted only for end customers. For example, in February Thai Airways offer a ‘cold weather discount’- if the temperature goes 15 degrees below zero, tickets are offered with 15% discount. On the basis of the campaigns mentioned above some travel companies are combining their tour packages. ‘At the moment we have a special offer to Vietnam and Cambodia based on ‘cheap’ flights to the destinations’, said Albert Kopian, Executive Director of Amitour. However, there are quotas on discounted flights. Besides, some experts, point out that discounted tickets are not always cheaper than block tariff offered by travel companies. ‘We have clients who having bought discounted tickets ask us to provide them with in-country services. As a result, their expenses, including taxes and fees exceed a cost of tour packages with block tariffs’, said Anatolyi Garkushin, General Director of Pantheon.
