Tour manager is in jail

[IMG=18925-4592] On January 26th ICE NUT travel agency initiated a criminal case against its manager Vladimir B. According to employees of the agency, Vladimir B. having falsified a stamp of the company, met tourists in cafes or in the metro, took their passports and money for trips and issued recites which looked like original documents. His colleagues did not suspect anything until manager did not come to work and tried to escape with clients’ documents and more than $6,000. Having known that the manager had disappeared clients of the agency called the police and Vladimir B. was caught. ‘He is in remand prison at the moment. The manager admitted his guilt but said that he had spent all the money in casino’, said a colleague of Vladimir B. toa BANKO correspondent. The agency does not know how to solve problems with the tourists who paid to Vladimir B. Lawyers interviewed by a BANKO correspondent comment on the situation as follows: ‘Most probably, the crime will be classified according to article 160 of Criminal Code ‘Conversion and defalcation’. In case he is declared guilty, punishment for him will be either 200-500 minimum salary or from 2 to 6 years in prison’, explained an expert from Persona Grata legal agency, Ekaterina Buligina. According to her, there is another side of the problem – the cheated tourists may initiate a criminal case against ICE NUT and the agency will have to pay them at its own expenses. ‘It may become a much publicized case in tourism’, stated Buligina.
