15% - 20% Increase in Price for Tunisia

[IMG=18885-4526] Experts in Tunisian tourism forecast a 15-25% increase in price for tour packages this summer. Many travel market players share this opinion as a result of the first preparation stage for the summer season. Reasons for increase in price are quite banal – higher prices for flights and accommodation. However, experts are not inclined to dramatize the situation. ‘There will not be a significant price rise. Besides, we forecast expansion of demand at approximately 20%’, explained Anna Podgornaya, Sales Director of Pegas Touristic. In fact, experts divide opinions regarding the increasing demand for the country. Some of them believe that the coming season will be under a flag of Tunisia. ‘Demand for the country goes in cycles. Therefore, last year drop in demand for the destination means the interest in the country this year’, said Natalia Margolina, the Head of Tunisia Department of ICS Travel Group. Some experts explain the reasons for traffic growth by the increasing number of hotels offering all-inclusive system, which is very popular with Russian tourists. On the contrary, some experts doubt the significant increase in demand. ‘Only reorientation of part of tourists from Turkey to Tunisia may stimulate considerable interest in the destination’, pointed out Alexander Tugolukov, Director of Biblio-Globus travel company. Although traffic volume grow to Tunisia is preliminary forecasted, an exact output is to be seen as travel market players have just started to plan flights for the coming season. However, some experts doubt traffic volume grow. For example, manager of Tunisia Department of Skyway, Dmitryi Chichkanov, believes: ‘I think flight volume will remain the same as it was last year. But even if I go wrong, traffic volume grow does not necessarily mean profit markup’.
