[IMG=18872-4515] At the end of December 2005 Andrey Umanskyi, former President of RVB-Alean, was appointed for the position of the Head of Krasnodar Region Tourism Development Department. On January 23rd BANKO correspondents found out travel market experts opinion on the appointment. The special point is that now Andrey Umanskyi deals with the sector, where the main player is still travel company RVB –Alean, which is involved not only in travel business but also in hotel purchase. Therefore, former colleagues of Umanskyi are quite skeptical towards the decision of Krasnodar region authorities, expecting Umanskyi to approach an administrative recourse against the competitors. Some of them think that ‘he will receive information regarding property redistribution, which will help his former company to purchase hotels’. Moreover, his influence will expand to other towns of Krasnodar region. However, some experts doubt such development of events. They believe, that problems arise due to a lack of information about intentions and plans of a new Head of Krasnodar Region Tourism Development Department. To find out the details a BANKO correspondent contacted Andrey Umanskyi himself, who contested all the suggestions above. ‘I have enough power to deal with the current tasks set for tourist administration of the region. My core task is to create favorable environment for investors, to attract them and RVB-Alean is not in some privileged position as I follow the strict reglament. The more investors we have the better’, stated Umanskyi. He also added, that information regarding the expansion of interests of the company due to his appointment is also false. The policy of the company will not change– the company had projects in Sochi even before his appointment. Commenting on the words of the Head of Krasnodar Region Tourism Development Department, inbound tourism experts admit: new opportunities of Umanskyi will hardly help help RVB-Alean to purchase hotels on easy terms. ‘Mechanism of hotel sale at the moment does not make it possible to benefit in price for those who was the first to receive information’, explained General Director of travel bureau Orient, anatolyi Gusev. Experts believe, that it is too early to make conclusions regarding the activities of Umanskui.
