‘Resorts and Tourism’ in Sochi

[IMG=18826-4459] The other day an annually held exhibition, ‘Resorts and Tourism’ terminated in Sochi. According to Moscow tour operating companies, visiting the exhibition has become a tradition rather than a necessity - all leading market players in the sphere of inbound tourism came from cold Moscow to warm up in Sochi. Sergey Romashkin, Director of travel company Dolphin, informed a BANKO correspondent that this time Moscow companies sent extended delegations to Sochi of 3-4 representatives each. ‘We, for example, collaborate with dozens of hotels therefore it is clear that one representative cannot communicate with all of them’, explained Sergey Romashkin. However, professional visitors from Moscow could pay attention to all their partners. For example, alexey Visokanov, Director of Multitour, impressed his colleagues by negotiating with his partner from Gelendjik for five and a half hours. The main intrigue of the exhibition was a first public appearance of Andrey Umanskyi as the Head of Krasnodar Region Tourism Development Department. Former president of RVB –Alean, Umanskyi was appointed to this position at the end of December 2005. Having changed casual clothes to a formal suit he became the subject of considerable gossip and rumours.
