More than 250 Tourists Left Stranded by The Collapse of Russian Travel Companies

The investigations into the disappearance of the Grand Voyage and Palmira Tour companies continue. Well-informed sources say that 100 tourists contacted The Economic Crime Investigation Office of the Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow regarding the case of Grand Voyage. Given that tours to Thailand sold by the company cost more than $1000 each, a large amount of money was clearly involved. Indeed, Tourism Industry House, where the office of Grand Voyage was located, has also lodged complaints; the property's management thinks that the business reputation of the office complex was harmed by its' asssociation with Grand Voyage. In the Palmira Tour investigation, it is already known that at least 150 tourists have lost money following the collapse of the company. Palmira Tour promoted its tours through Tours.ru, TOURINDEX, Foros, direct mailing systems and advertisements in the mass media that attracted a large number of agencies and tourists.
