Following official instructions, a representative of Sanitary Department of the Aeroflot Medical Centre imitated the symptoms of bird flu whilst on the plane. The crew followed evacuation procedures in accordance with the set guidlines, cooperating with the airport and sanitary services involved. Thus, the ‘playwar’ was considered a success. Meanwhile, the flow of information about bird flu cases in Turkey is still high. The Times today gave important details about a possible mutation of the virus, which could make it more dangerous for people. In addition, a number of tours to Turkey with Russian travel agents have have been cancelled. Gabi Travel informed a ‘BANKO’ correspondent about one such case; according to Yulia Balakireva, a Manager of the agency - their clients have cancelled a planned trip to Palandonken. The tour was supposed to start on the 26th of January; by that time, the agency plans to make a refund to the tour operating company, Prestige Tour. ‘BANKO’ continues watching and reporting about the development of all bird flu related events.
