[IMG=18783-4417] The aircraft A-310, arriving in Moscow from Bangkok on the night of the 9th/10th had to make an emergency landing at the Domodedovo Airport. On the 11th of January a passenger of the plane, Svetlana Russkikh, informed a ‘BANKO’ correspondent about the incident. «…The passengers were informed about an emergency landing. We were instructed about the measures to take. There was no panic. The wing-flaps came down and the plane lurched to the ground. Then we felt a strong impact to the under-side of the plane and we touched down. The pilots managed to retain control over the plane. The emergency services were everywhere. Finally the plane came to a halt. We could feel the plane was completely lop-sided. (Like in a film!). The press service of ‘Sibir’ confirmed the following information about the emergency landing: ‘There was a technical fault – we could not lock the landing gear down which could lead to a ‘belly landing’. But the crew dealt with the situation successfully. At the moment the incident is being investigated by a special commission', said Ilia Novokhatskyi, representative of ‘Sibir’ press service. The Domodedovo Press Service pointed out that emergency services are called only in serious situations. They could not remember the last time it had happened. Svetlana Russkikh finished her letter to ‘BANKO’ in the following way: ‘We are grateful for the actions of the crew and their professionalism’.
