This year New Year in Europe is expected to have a non traditional snowy landscape. At the moment in Germany, Austria, France, Czech Republic and some other countries heavy snowfalls are accompanied by freezing cold. The snow cover in some regions was up to one meter and thermometers show 15-17 С below zero. According to ‘France-press’, snow disrupts railway traffic in France, while in Germany, Sweden, Austria and Portugal flights are canceled. ‘There are no changes in the flight schedule from Moscow to European countries. If an airport can not accommodate a flight they inform us in advance. Today we have not received messages of this type’, commented a representative of Sheremetievo airport press service.
Snow causes chaos on Czech roads. According to Marketa Zimdjovicheva, director of ‘Na Touru’, a domestic travel company within Czech Republic, snow wins in spite of the efforts of road clearing services. But this does not paralyze tourist activities. Prague is full of guests, who follow their previously planned programs. Besides, during the whole holiday all museums are open. Snowy winter brings a New Year mood. Snow-white Prague looks fabulous. As for Russian tourists, snowfalls and cold weather can not spoil holidays. ‘Those who go to Czech Republic should not expect unpleasant surprises. Flights are not canceled and all tourist objects are open’, said a representative of ‘Travel System Bohemia’ to a ‘BANKO’ correspondent.
According to Moscow weather bureau, snowstorms will continue till the end of the week, which means that Europe will see New Year in unusual enchanting finery.
