‘BANKO’ Information Service keeps receiving alarming signals about non-fulfillment of obligations of travel firms before their partners and clients. Last week ‘BANKO’ team investigated the situation of the disappearance of ‘Grand Voyage’ firm (see news as of 21st and 22nd of December); on Tuesday, the 27th of December, several sources confirmed the disappearance of ‘Palmira-tour’ company, which earlier worked mostly in Egypt and Thailand.
For example, according to a member of a staff of a Kaluga agency who wished to stay incognito, her firm should have received documents this week for 11 of its tourists (flights on the 3rd and the 4th of January). Yet calling to the office of ‘Palmira-tour’ brought no results. Similar information came from another travel agency, representatives of which are not able to pick up the pre-paid air tickets for 8 of its tourists. The topic of the firms’ disappearance was the subject of discussion on the professional forum www.tourdom.ru.
At the venue, a BANKO correspondent discovered that the office of ‘Palmira-tour’ at the address: building 1,15, Oruzheyniy pereulok - is closed down. As of 14:00 behind the door phones were constantly ringing but none of the clients or partners of the company were around the office. Although there were clear signs showing that they had been here before. Doors of the shoe shop near the office had an announcement posted: ‘We do not give information on the location of other establishments. Please do not disturb.’ Nevertheless, a member of the staff told a BANKO correspondent that in ‘Palmira-tour’ very respectable and pleasant looking people had worked.
