Tour operators have no more tours to offer

At the moment according to the representatives of tour operating companies interviewed by a ‘BANKO’ correspondent on December 23rd, the main task for tour operators is to issue documents for their clients. ‘We hope to finish by at least 7 p.m. We even had to divide documents – today we issue documents only to those who fly on December 24th, 25th and 26th. Documents for the New Year flights will be issued next week’, said Maria Ananyan, the head of the Document Department of ‘PAK Group’. According to experts, this tendency can be considered new. ‘Comparing with the last season the volume of sales has increased by 30% and the majority of the New Year tours were booked within the week November 7-13’, said Tatiana Chuvilkina, General Director Deputy of ‘Natalie Tours’. The situation does not differ much at various destinations. ‘There are only last-minute offers for Bangkok left’, said Margarita Davlikanova, Deputy of Director of ‘Inna Tour’. ‘We were surprised how quickly all the tours were sold despite the destinations and the prices. For example, tickets to Dubai by Emirates cost about 1000$‘, added Dmitry Artyunov, General Director of ‘Art-tour’. Operators have also pointed out some peculiarities of New Year sales in this season. Firstly, expensive tours were booked in the first place. Experts explain that on the one hand wealthy clients can book in advance, and on the other hand many tourists worried that the closer the New Year period the higher the prices. Secondly, the demand for tours with the departure on December 31st has increased. Experts find the reason in the fact that the government has defined an exact period for the holidays while last year it was unclear. As for January tours, especially exotic countries, they are not very popular. But according to the market players, the same situation happens every year and they bank on February, the time when student holidays start.
