[IMG=18696-4278] As BANKO informed earlier, (see news as of 07.12 and 14.12) this year there was a noticeable surplus of air transportation for New Year tours to Bali. As a result, many experts skeptically thought that direct flights to the island would not be possible to sell fully. By the 20th of December as Evgenia Konkol, director of ‘Spectrum’ company, announced there are problems with only two flights: on the 25th and the 27th of December. Sale of tours is still underway, market players hope to sell all trips for remaining days, even though they admit it needs special offers. ‘For the flight on the 27th about 20% of seats are not yet sold. We dropped the prices to the minimum. For example, we sell tours to a 5* hotel for $1890, originally it cost $2800. Nevertheless, I hope we will be able to close the sale and, therefore, minimize losses’, says Tamara Vsevolozhskaya, director of ‘Express-line’. Similar situation is with the flight on the 25th of December. According to Tatiana Vand, president of ‘Vand international tours’, originally it was clear that this plane was not needed. ‘Many firms sell at a loss. It is not only caused by the surplus of transportation but by the incorrect choice of dates as well. Many potential clients cannot go on New Year holidays that early. I even suspect that if this flight was arranged for the 29th, it would go down well. Yet, everyone is now having a headache and damping prices.’
