A temporary agreement, establishing the equal amount of flights to Milan for Aeroflot and Alitalia, was prolonged till January 15. Irina Denenberg, head of press-service of Aeroflot, shared the information with BANKO. According to her, it was concluded from the planned meeting of representatives of Russian and Italian airline authorities on the subject of regulating the issue of air flights between two countries.
The problem of Russian-Italian connection has been considered and regulated for over a month (BANKO reported about it in November), however there are still no cardinal changes: everything is limited by continuing the agreement about equal amount of flights. ‘There will be another meeting later on, but I cannot forecast how it will be solves’, comments Irina Danenberg. The second party, Nedo Biajini, director of Alitalia, was also brief: ‘The most important is that both companies will make a flight a day for another month, I have nothing else to add’.
It is yet unknown when the next meeting is going to be held. Neither it is clear if it will be the final one. Representatives of Aeroflot and Alitalia as well as operators whose programs are based on flights of both carriers do not want to forecast the solution. Yet, experts believe that the negotiations have dragged on. ‘Perhaps after winter holidays Russian and Italian authorities, finally, decide this issue for good’, optimistically believes Marianna Medvedeva, vice-president of Lanta-tour voyage.
