The adventure tourism in developed country gathers pace quicker than the beach and the excursion tourism. Therefore, ‘niche’ tour firms specializing in selling original tours connected with active and extreme holidays have good prospects. Such a conclusion was made by the participants of online-broadcast: ‘Your niche: peculiarities of non-standard and non-mainstream tourism’ which was held on the 20th of December on the professional forum www.tourdom.ru. Gennadiy Kotov, managing director of ‘Astratravel’, Ekaterina Adityarova, director of ‘Wind of freedom’ company, Maria Sidorova, supervisor of UTE Megapolus Group and Valeriy Chumakov, director of ‘Tour Land’ company participated in the program.
In the opinion of experts, it is not only outbound tourism which is popular among the Russians who are bored of passive holidays, but the inbound tourism: cruises to the North Pole by nuclear-powered ice-breakers, off-road Russian trips: ‘Our vast territory attracts Americans, Europeans, Japanese. Exotic lovers happily cross our country from the west to the east’, notes Gennadiy Kotov. Yet such holiday is connected with increased danger for the life of tourists so it should be perfectly organized and firms should secure themselves with signed letters. ‘After the instructions before the trip we take guarantee letters that the participants are aware about all dangers, including height sickness, difficult crossings, changes in temperature, insect bites, busy schedule of relocation, predators etc’, says Ekaterina Adityarova.
Experts note that the promoting of ‘niche’ product is slowed by the lack of consolidation of companies. Their separate efforts are not enough to issue catalogues or participating in international exhibitions. You can participate in the discussion here.
