As the New Year’s Eve approaches, New Year sales are progressively running out of time for realization. In spite of the fact that sales are already closed at many destinations, there are countries which still fight for tourists’ money. Amongst them are Kenya, The man intrigue of December is the charter Moscow-Nairobi-Mombasa-Moscow (with a stay in Nairobi and Mombasa), announced by companies ‘The 4th power’ and ‘Unknown land’ from the 29th of December till the 10th of January. Because there were many attempts to arrange a charter in this destination, there are still doubts about the charter’s perspectives: the reputation of every agency depends on holidays of ‘expensive’ clients who are able to pay $2500 for Kenyan tour package. Doubts are raised by non-sport methods of promoting the flights: daily spam-newsletters offering to spend a ‘New Year at the motherland of elephants’.
Yet, organizers guarantee the success of the program. Sergey Dmitriev, general director of ‘Unknown land’ confirmed: ‘We have already arranged the charter. From 134 seats we have sold over 80, a number of seats are booked by our partners’. Alexey Kuznetsov, advisor of special project general director of ‘the 4th power’ group pf companies says: ‘The demand for the product exceeds possibilities of regular flights so we decided to arrange the flight of TU-154 of ‘Aeroflot-Nord’ company. The carrier guaranteed that the flight will be made: it was already included in Sheremetievo schedule as Aul9215’. Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that there were direct New Year flights to this African company at the end of 90s.
Still, there is not enough time for selling Kenya New Year tours. A tourist, who buys last minute tours, risks not having enough time to make injections against tropical illnesses in the necessary terms. (Kenyan embassy recommends the injections). Lyudmila Tsvil, deputy head of department of supervision of dangerous infections at Rospotrebnadsor territorial administration in Moscow, commented in an interview to a BANKO correspondent: ‘To go to the country you need to have injection against yellow fever 10 days prior to departure. Malaria injections need to be done a week before a flight’.
