[IMG=18629-4209] On the 14th of December BANKO received a complaint from Marina Danilyuk, general director of ‘Alma travel’, who has been searching for her luggage for a week. Missing suitcases were discovered on the 7th of December as Ms. Danilyuk arrived by a charter flight from Rimini to ‘Domodedovo’. The flight was consolidated by ‘Danko’ tour operator, but transportation was carried out by ‘KD-avia’. Apart from Marina Danilyuk 53 people did not find their luggage, amongst which there are both usual tourists, participants of an advertising tour, and passengers, who visited Rimini on a shopping trip. As Anastasia Volinova, presenting the press-service of ‘KD-Avia’, told a BANKO correspondent: ‘the luggage is not lost, it had to be divided into a part because of the over-weight, it will be delivered to Moscow with today’s flight’. However, Ms.Danilyuk has already been to the airoport in the hope of receiving her luggage, but the luggage was not there. Ms Danilyuk accuses the operator in causing the situation as it was the operator who arranges the charter: ‘The overweight is caused by shoppers whose luggage is stowed onboard first and foremost by prior-agreement, while the luggage of other tourists is loaded on the leftover principle’. The version of Natalie Minaeva, head of department of communication with agencies at ‘Danko’ is different: ‘Overweight is not caused by shoppers as their number never changes but by regular tourists who buy presents before the New Year. On these dates the average luggage weights 35.5 kg’. As BANKO discovered from the lost and found department at Domodedovo, such stories, unfortunately, are not rare. On mainstream destinations the delay of luggage is often especially noticeable when tourists arrive from Rimini and Istanbul.
