On the evening of the 6th of December the results of the award ‘TBG. Tourist brands’ were formally announced at the ceremony held in Ekaterina’s palace. The awards were distributed as follows.
Tour operating company TEZ TOUR received the award ‘Brand №1’ in two nominations: ‘Most known and claimed for travel brand in 2005 among the direct users of travel services’ (based on the survey amongst Moscovites), as well as ‘Most established travel brands – the choice of professionals in travel business’. (based on the survey among managers of 600 Moscow travel firms).
Besides, TEZ TOUR company came second in the nomination ‘For creative solutions in the concept of branding’ and came fourth in the nomination ‘For most professional communications in the travel mass media’ (the nomination was given by the expert committee of branding). The statuette ‘Golden head’ was handed by Sayed Nafal, tourist councilor in the embassy of Egypt in Moscow.
Tour operating company PAC group – nominees of the ‘TBG. Tourist brands’ award – was the first, according to experts, in the nomination ‘For most professional communications in the travel mass media’. Also the company came third in nominations ‘Most established travel brands – the choice of professionals in travel business’ and ‘For creative solutions in the concept of branding’. The award to the representatives of PAC Group was awarded by Alexander Byako, honourable member of the knowledge club ‘what, where, when’.
Tour operating companies ‘Lanta-tour voyage’ and ‘Rose of winds’, nominees of ‘TBG. Tourist brands’ shared the second place in the prestigious nomination ‘Most known and claimed for travel brand in 2005 among the direct users of travel services’. A ‘golden head’ was handed to the company ‘Lanta-tour voyage’ by the deputy of the state Duma, Gennadiy Gudkov. The company ‘Rose of winds’ received the award from the hands of Sergey Baranovskiy, president of the Russian public ecology organization ‘Green Cross’.
UTE Megapolus Group won in the nomination ‘For creative solutions in the concept of branding’. The expert committee also positively marked the work of UTE Megapolus group in another nomination: it came second in the nomination ‘For most professional communications in the travel mass media’. Also the company came fourth in the nomination ‘Most established travel brands – the choice of professionals in travel business’. The statuette ‘Golden head’ was presented to UTE Megapolus group by Carlos Oscar Ernandez, director of the representative office of the Cuban ministry in Russia.
‘Capital tour’ operating company received awards in the nomination ‘TBG. Tourist brands’. The company received a high mark from the specialists of the travel industry and direct customers: it came second in the nomination ‘Most established travel brands – the choice of professionals in travel business’ and the third in ‘Most known and claimed for travel brand in 2005 among the direct users of travel services’. The ‘Golden head’ was presented by Vladimir Sister, chairman of the committee of science and technology in Moscow.
Tour operating company DSBW TOURS-CONTINENT, a nominee of ‘TBG. Tourist brands’ took 4 awards in two nominations: ‘For most professional communications in the travel mass media’ and ‘For creative solutions in the concept of branding’. The award was given to DSBW TOURS-CONTINENT by Per Anders Hem, a trade counselor of the Norwegian embassy in Russia.
Tour operating company BSI Group became the nominee of the award ‘TBG. Tourist brands’ in nominations for ‘Most well-known and claimed for travel brand in 2005 among the direct users of travel services’ (the fouth place) and ‘For most professional communications in the travel mass media’ (3rd ). The statuette ‘Golden head’ was awarded by TV and radio presenter Vladimir Soloviev.
Tour operating company ‘Intaer’ became a nominee of the award ‘TBG. Tourist brands’ for the active participation in promoting the idea of correct buisiness. The award was presented by Georgiy Grechko, cosmonaut and two times Hero of the Soviet Union.
Additional choice
Apart from the main nominations at the ceremony the results of two additional nominations were announced: ‘TBG – travel network’ and ‘TBG-foreign hotel’. The first winner was the network of travel agencies ‘Club of travels’ ‘Wings’ (Ekaterinburg). Dimitris Kharitidis, sales director of the Greek network of hotels ‘Aldemar’, congratulated the Ural company. The best in the nomination ‘TBG-foreign hotel’ was the chain the Greek hotels Sani Resort Hotels. The prize was presented by Sergey Klichanoskiy, president of advertising group ‘Tri-Plan’.
Also at the ceremony, results of the voting in two non-competitive nominations were announced: ‘Choice of brands’ and ‘Choice of mafia’, the candidates were suggested by the current nominees of the award.
In the nomination ‘Choice of brands – the most successful tour operating project’ 7 companies were named which did not participate in the competition but, according to finalists, deserved the brand award: ‘Natalie tours’, ‘VKO travel’, ‘Coral travel’, ‘Bureau South Cross’, ‘Mostravel’, ‘Jet travel’, and ‘Russian Express’. With a difference of 1 vote ‘Mostravel’ won.
In non-competitive nomination ‘Choice of mafia – most Unsuccessful tour operating project of the year’ there were Premier Travel Service, ‘Jazz travel’, ‘Deep tour’, ‘Transhow’ and ‘Az tour’. Due to the visible benefits the award was conquered by Premier Travel Service. The results of nominations ‘Choice of brands’ and ‘Choice of mafia’ was announced by general director of ‘echo of moscow’ yuriy Fedutinoc and president of BANKO Tatiana Dmitrova.
