What happened to ‘Deep tour’ - part 3

[IMG=18525-4113] On the 5th of December on www.tourdom.ru there was a discussion of the situation involving ‘Deep tour’ who limited its activity of sending tourists to Egypt before the high season (see news as of the 2nd of December). By the end of the day in ‘Kurilka’ forum a message was posted by ‘Sereja’, a nickname used by Sergey Burakov, head of the charter department of ‘Deep tour’: ‘... Relating to the work of company – indeed, there will be no flights till March, some time is needed to analyze mistakes made, but the office is working and none of the agents are left alone. You can always find out information by the phone’. Nevertheless, BANKO correspondents failed to receive any oral or written explanations of the events from ‘Deep tour’ representatives. The company’s secretary promised to pass the journalist’s request to Imran Nazarov, head of the holding. Specialists interviewed by journalists tend to believe that the ceasing of operating activity was initiated by the financial partner of ‘Deep tour’ – ‘Mezhbusinessbank’, an alliance with which was announced on the 5th of October. According to specialists, the bank surveyed the situation of the firm after which a decision was made to cut down the volume of financial support for the operating ambitions of ‘Deep tour’ and the issue of investment was put on hold. This reflects how members of staff at the company have commented upon the situation in private. Pretexts for such event development appeared long before this autumn, believe experts: Deep tour staked aggressive marketing politics and competed in the segment of low price in large volume. Such methods require investment flows and gradual re-positioning on more profitable niches. It is obvious ‘Deep tour’ could not succeed in the task. ‘It was the wrong way, that’s why the current situation was quite predictable’, says Maya Mostovaya, head of the Egyptian department in ‘Skyway’. The last hope – an announced agreement with ‘Mezhbusinessbank’ ended up in necessity to cut down the active work. Evaluating the future of ‘Deep tour’ through the prism of current events, experts are quite pessimistic. ‘I cannot say this is the end but in practice, if the firm leaves the market, it rarely comes back’, concluded Alexey Sergeechev, vice-president of ‘InaAer’. There is also another problem, the company will inevitably face if it decides to continue its work on the market – personnel deficit. BANKO correspondents receive numerous confirmations that operators working on the Egyptian and Turkish destinations began receiving CVs from job-hunters whose last placement was at ‘Deep tour’. ‘It is logical that if the company stops operating and announces that it will return to its activity after half a year, specialists have to take care of themselves’, believes Igor Andreev, ‘RTK’ commercial director.
