On November 30th a BANKO correspondent was investigating the situation involving the company which is known as Fenek Air in the Tunisian destination. Previously, on November 22th Rostourism issued the order to suspend Fenek Air's license for operating and agency activities. Since, according to the results of the season, this destination was abandoned by two established companies - Premier Travel Services and Zet-Tour Voyage, the information about the suspension of the liscence of another Tunisian operator stimulated the interest of market players.
BANKO contacted the operator, requesting a statement on their suspension. In and official letter, general director of Fenek Air Elena Rabe explains that at present another legal entity is already working under this brand - LLC Fenek Air, having acquired a new license to undertake tour operator and agency activities. The liscence in question was issued on November 3rd. This is because the main shareholder in JSC Fenek Air was a French company Polimont which in July of this year had reported its intention to suspend activity in Russia. The Fenek Air managament has decided to re-register the company, and now the list of owners consists of only Russians. "Specialists Rostourism had noted breaches of conduct in the granting of a license to the previous incarnation of Fenek Air. They were discovered when preparing the documentation for reregistration", - confirms Elena Rabe. She also added that the operator intends to continue with its work in Tunisia and their partner will be the recieving company Concept Voyage.
During an interview with BANKO correspondent, Rida Silini, owner of Concept Voyage, confirmed the upcoming cooperation with the Moscow operator, not elaborating on whether official documents pertaining to the partnership had been signed or not. "We know that Fenek Air have undergone structural changes, but this does not matter. The main thing is that they do not break their obligations and pay in good time", - says Mr. Silini.
Previously, the Moscow operator worked in Tunisia with the company Travel Plus, but have changed partner, according to the President of Fenek Air Dmitri Abramyana, explaining the decision by being influenced by the 'circumstances' around the restructuring: "We had not seen our brand promoted in Tunisia- there was no evidence that the receiving company had carried out its own obligations. Additionally, we experienced serious financial discord". The Managing director of Travel Plus in Moscow Nina Lutfalla, however, confirms that while it is still too early to draw the results of the collaboration work: "Both companies still need to discuss a lot. I hope we will be able to answer all questions and make the conclusion from the previos season".
