Russia and Italy are waiting again

As ‘Aeroflot’ press-service said (the carrier is one of the main characters in the story), as a result the parties decided to prolong the agreement about regular flights Moscow-Milan till the 19th of December. During this period each of air companies (Aeroflot and Alitalia) will make flights on the route once a day. The further fate of the flights is not yet clear. On the other hand, the situation with charters is not yet clear either. An anonymous source informed a BANKO correspondent that in the middle of last week the Federal Agency of Air Transport sent out telegrams to travel firms containing a warning from the Italian side to launch planes only to take tourists out of Italy. According to witnesses, players had to use their connections with the Italian tourist authorities to solve the problem urgently, as the closest charter flights were appointed for Saturday. On Friday, on the 25th of November permission for the flight was received. Nevertheless, market players in their evaluation of the events still divide into two groups. The first group does not hurry to relate the problem with charter flights to the problem with regular flights. ‘Previously, we used to receive permission to fly a couple of days before the date. It is a regular practice in our work’, believes Natalia Minaeva, head of the department of work with agencies ‘Danko’. A second group of experts, on the other hand, see a direct connection between events. What is more, its representatives intend to take active participation in solving the problem with charter flights. ‘Now the idea of joint efforts of the operators and airline companies involved is being discussed. I think we will write a letter to both Russian and Italian authorities about the danger of the situation’, said Alexander Sorokin, president of ‘PAC Group’ to a BANKO correspondent.
