The Sunday snowfall which was brought down on Moscow did not cause any substantial changes in schedules of Moscow airports. At least, press-services of Sheremetievo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Byikovo confirmed to a BANKO correspondent that technical services deal with adverse weather conditions and planes leave on time. Only in Sheremetievo there were cases of taking ‘anti-crisis measures’: ‘We addressed to Domodedovo where on the 20th of November four of our liners landed. However it did not cause any changes in our schedule’, said Dmitry Petrochenko, a representative of Sheremetievo airport press-service, to a BANKO correspondent. ‘On Monday only one flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg was not carried out. From Pulkovo the liner Tu-154 returned back as it could not land because of bad weather: atmospheric precipitations, wind and low visibility has been here during several days’.
Representatives of press-services of Moscow airports hope that unfavorable weather forecasts for the nearest future will not make passenger wait for a long time due to delayed flights. ‘We will work as usual’, says, for example, Irina Ivanova, a representative of press-service in Vnukovo.
Nevertheless, travel firm specialists who send their tourists on far-away destinations should be aware of a chance to be stuck before arriving to the airport – on roads covered with snow. In order to avoid traffic jams and accidents it is preferably to use trains: from Paveletskiy train station to Domodedovo, from Kievskiy train station to Vnukovo, from Kazanskiy train station to Byikovo, from Savelovskiy train station till the stop Lobnya and further by bus till terminals of Sheremetievo.
