New Year’s Eve is approaching

[IMG=18373-3974] On the eve of New Year holidays travel firms of Krasnoyarsk who offer ski mountain tours have difficulties selling packages of Moscow operators. The reason is in inconvenient schedule of the local airport Yemeliyanovo – on the first of January it is practically closed, therefore there are no flights to Moscow. ‘The basic demand for European resorts in our agency is for a first flight on the first day after the New Year. This year,a ccording to ski mountain calendar first flights after the New Year as well as all charter flights start on the second of January. To be able to catch them Krasnoyarsk citizens, tourists-skiers have to fly to Moscow the day before – that is on the first pf January but there are no flights. An option to fly to Novisibirsk, the closest large city, is not very convenient as tourists will have to leave Krasnoyarsk by train on the 31st to be in time for flights from Novosibirsk to Moscow. A prospect of celebrating New Year in the train is not very attractive as it takes 12 hours’, explained Konstantin Goncharov, general director of ‘Bureau of travels Alef’. As a BANKO correspondent discovered, airport have been closing for vacations for 5 years, although in the coming holidays the administration decided to change their attitude and reduce the 3 day New Year holiday to one day. ‘We thought it was wrong to work on New Year holidays when most organizations including airports have at least minimum holidays’, says Taisiya Prokhanova, a PR manager of ‘Krasair’ airline company, talking on behalf of Olga Trapeznikova, head of the department of public communications of the company. ‘The situation has the only solution, a traditional one’, believes Sergey Shestakov, director of Krasnoyarsk travel firm, - ‘To advise holiday-makers to go to local ski mountain resorts which are twice as cheap as foreign resorts but are not as prestigious.’ For example, a two week holiday in Sheregesh, most popular travel location, will be three times cheaper than a travel package for the same term to the Italian valley Val-Dia-Fassa (for a comparison: one day in a 3* hotel in Shergesh cost 2000 roubles, a two-week holiday in a 3* hotel in Val-Dia-Fassa $3 000.). If Sibirian resorts are not attractive enough to Krasnoyarsk citizens based on their opinion, then travel firms advise to delay the planned trip.
