Travel industry has not year ceased discussing the appointment of Andrey Vlasov (ex- ‘TEZ TOUR’, ex-BSI), who occupied the seat of one of vice-presidents, as the news about two more appointments came through.
Recently two departments of the company had two new directors. Maximilian Boltser, ex managing director of the department of capital markets in stock financial corporation ‘Sistema’, was put in charge of the financial-budget department, while Alexey Kargin was appointed as a director of outbound tourism department, earlier he was the head of the advertising department in ‘Sodis’.
Judging from previous posts of the specialists, it looks like ‘Intourist’ shareholders decided to use the combined tactics of management reshuffling. If before top managers were invited from structures similar to ‘Intourist’ (the company stood out due to the politics), now the trend is to fortify the company with people who have experience in large operating companies. This was confirmed by Alexey Kargin in an interview to a BANKO correspondent. According to him, new appointments are accounted for the fact that owners of companies decided to unite the diverse experience of people who worked in various structures and companies with different missions.
In the relation to aims set for the new staff to achieve, they are the same. As a BANKO correspondent found out from reliable sources, ‘Intourist’ plans for the next two years to strengthen its position on the market of outbound tourism, conquering the status of one of the leading brands. At the same time the company is undertaking a management reform – relevant changes in organization structure already started in spring.
Meanwhile, highlighted declarations were made by ‘Intourist’ several times, each new team announced victorious mottos and set to use a budget presented for a successive break-through in the sphere of outbound tourism. However, as on-viewers admit, in the best case ‘Intourist’ were able to enter the circle of the key players on the niche destinations for the limited period of time and open up career perspectives for the most entrepreneurial managers. It is no wonder that experts do not see any pre-requisites for ‘Intourist’ to tip the balance of competitive forces on the market of outsorting.
