11/08/2019 16:53Travel offices will say «ugh!»Travel offices will say «ugh!»[IMG=18348-3916] On the 16th of November representatives of ANTOR: Association of National Tourist Offices Representation gathered together in one of the cozy cafes on Kamergerskiy pereulok. Even though the meeting was held in an informal atmosphere – over lunch and a glass of wine –serious issues were being discussed. Sergey Kanaev (Department of tourism and commercial marketing of Dubai) offered to initiate a joint campaign against spam. According to him, it is most logical to express a collective ‘ugh!’ to the unsanctioned distribution of electronic information. The travel industry, being international and information-based, is in a prime position to express a negative response to the issue or ‘Spam’. The proposition was actively supported by tour office representatives who shared their techniques of fighting spam. The representative of Estonia suggested that the best way to fight spam is to change e-mail accounts every two to three years. Nevertheless, Kanaev’s suggestion of a counter-spam campaign was supported and accompanied by a toast. The details of the campaign are still being discussed but it is already clear that ANTOP plans to give it the maximum exposure. It is expected to involve each and every travel agency. |
