Operators will have an extra hour

[IMG=18283-3780] On the 8th of November, 2005 the Austrian Consulate changed the regulations for travel visa processing. From now on 3 instead of 2 windows will work exclusively with travel companies. What is more, an hour was added for the receiving of documents: now you can submit documents from 10:30 till 13:00 (earlier it was only possible between 10:45 till 12:15). According to additional information this schedule will retain till March. This way, anxiety showed by tour operators before the start of the next season was considered. ‘We already anticipated night queues in the Consulate’, says Boris Buryikin, general director of ‘Ascent travel’. – ‘Now the problem is solved and we can calmly submit the documents’. Emmanuel Lener, director of the Austrian Representative Office in Moscow, interviewed by a BANKO correspondent, announced: ‘The current change in the work of the Consulate is connected with the coming New Year’s holidays, and therefore, a high winter season. The term of processing the visa is 7 working days’. According to him, such regulations were introduced this year for the first time, so he could not tell how the Consulate will work from April 2006 and advised those affected to wait and see. Meanwhile, operator’s flight plans are constantly getting into shape. (see news as of 7.11). For example, ‘Ascent travel’ said they will take up a flight by Boeing-757 to Insbook with ‘VIM-avia’ airlines, in Salzburg they will arrange two chains: with ‘Transaero’ by Boeing-767, and with ‘KD-Avia’ by Boeing-737. According to Marina Barskaya, the head of the Austrian department of ‘PAC Group’, the company has the following schedule: from the 2nd of January on Saturdays there will be only Boeing-737 to Salzburg with ‘KD-avia’ and another flight by Boeing-737 to Friedrichshafen with Transaero. Meanwhile, the main question of the Austrian flights is still not answered: how exactly the blocks are distributed between the participants of two pools.
