Online-broadcast 'How to organize sales' was held on Tuesday, 8th of November, on ‘Kurilka’ forum of the professional travel and tourist portal www.tourdom.ru. The broadcast was hosted by Alexander Preobrazhenskiy, director of ‘Shop of travels’, who discussed the issue in a role of an expert. Valeriy Chumakov, director of ‘Tour land’ agency and a representative of a large operating company, who wished to stay anonymous also took part in the discussion of the hot topic. They shared their various opinions. ‘Sales should be ‘technological’ and ‘pre-programmed’, believes Alexander Preobrazhenskiy. ‘That is, you should sell what is currently relevant to an operator or is profitable for an agent’. At the same time, retail sellers consider client’s opinion and wish, which is hard to foresee, to be the most important. ‘The task of an agency is to correctly help a holiday-maker to make a decision so that they do not get disappointed’, says Valeriy Chumakov.
In the end, experts concluded that an agent has to take the initiative to arrive to the same concept as the operator. ‘For a retail seller the best solution is to get ready for the season together with the operator: to recommend hotels, to establish, write and follow the plan’, - said an anonymous representative of an operating company.
