The results of previous season in Crimea and Krasnodar region showed that despite increase of prices, holidays in Russia and Krasnodar region are demanded by Russian tourists. Operators note a huge demand, in particular, to resorts of Cuban (especially, Gelendzhik and Anapa) – about 40%. In Crimea there is a growth of flow and at the same time a 30% increase of prices. ‘We are talking about millions of Russian tourists who in spite of the price boost chose this product’, noted Sergey Romashkin, a general director of ‘Dolphin’ company. ‘In fact, clients’ interest to holidays in the country’s resorts and near-abroad companies was underestimated’.
An increased demand for internal tourism, according to experts, will be continued in winter season. First of all, it will influence ski resorts – Krasnaya Polyana and South Ural. Interest to these regions is explained by decreased interest to Dombai and near Elbrus after a recent act of terrorism in Nalchik. Until then these places were very popular and were considered to be a good variant of cost-effective holidays because of cheap services. Another reason is that there are more opportunities for tourists on these resorts. ‘For instance, there is a new road built to Krasnaya Polyana, thanks to which it is possible to stay not only at the ski mountain station itself but also in Adler’, - says Elena Voevodina, a deputy general director of ‘Wind rose’.
According to the general opinion, a peak of demand for internal destinations is expected on holidays and weekends. Although experts do not hurry with final prognosis, saying conclusions should be drawn in the mid November.
